How it works

  • Germantown provides the field, an umpire, and an adult observer.
  • Games are played to 6 innings on 60-foot bases.
  • Players play pickup baseball, communicate, rotate, and solve game situations.
  • Adults cheer and encourage, but do not coach, manage, or direct gameplay.
  • Games are scored only if a parent volunteers to run the scoreboard.
  • No standings, season records, or team results are kept.
  • Friends and siblings may register for the same game if spots are available, but there are no fixed teams or guaranteed groupings.

Signup and payment

  • Register in advance for each game through the Sports Connect Game Signups page.
  • Games are scheduled for 6:30 PM on posted dates.
  • Each game needs at least 14 registered players and is capped at 20, with a waitlist if full.
  • Punch cards are $50 for 5 punches; one player per game = one punch.
  • Cards can be shared and may cover multiple players at the same game.
  • Buy punch cards at the concession stand during the regular season, in person at the game (cash or check only), or through the website store.
  • If weather or fewer than 14 players cancels a game, registered players will be emailed and no punch will be charged.
  • A player who registers but does not show without cancelling by the evening before the game loses one punch.

Game safety and equipment

Adult observer role: The adult observer is a supervision position for discipline matters, including situations where a player needs to leave the game or the umpire needs backup.

Pitching and catching: Pitchers are limited to two innings per game. Catchers may catch the entire game, but if a player catches more than two innings, that player is ineligible to pitch that day. Catchers should bring their own gear and must have a safety cup.

Players should bring: glove, bat, helmet, water bottle, cleats, labeled gear, and catcher gear if they plan to catch.

Punch cards$50 for 5 punches. Concession stand, game check-in, or website store.
